WHAT DOES THE MEDICAL COMMUNITY SAY?
It is well-documented that regular, proper foot care is essential in helping seniors maintain mobility, balance, and an active lifestyle. Proper foot care helps to reduce fall risk, pain, and immobility. Freedom from nagging foot pain contributes to a sense of well-being and independence in an aging population.
Why Foot Care Is Critical for Seniors - US News and World Report, January 16, 2019
According to Dr. Said Atway, a clinical assistant professor of podiatry at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center… ‘for anyone with foot pain, it's important to realize that’s not just a normal part of aging. There are treatments that can help you get back to your more active self with less pain. You should have [your feet] evaluated…’
Specially-trained nurses can help evaluate and treat so many common foot problems. A Certified Foot Care Specialist will come to you.
Our Mission
Certified Foot Care Specialists provide seniors, diabetics, and those with other health challenges the chance to experience professional medical pedicures according to current standards and protocols by the American Foot Care Nurses Association. Our clients are seeking a positive change in their overall wellness and mobility, and we are here to help!
We provide basic, routine foot care needs. We can handle the thickest and longest toenails and the roughest, toughest corns and calluses. We can remove the ingrown part of a nail. We moisturize legs and feet. We do not do pedicures (no soaks, polish, or sparkles), but instead focus on the safety, health, and comfort of the our clients from a medical perspective. A Foot Care Nurse does not replace a podiatrist nor a medical doctor, but works collaboratively in understanding the best practice protocols and procedures for a client. A Certified Foot Care Specialist evaluates, treats as appropriate, and makes appropriate referrals.
